The first is 'The Old Mill' and the second is 'The Old Farm'. Both marked “Eau forte” meaning strong water as the colours are vibrant over an etched print, or lithograph. They have both been signed 'Le Garf' although this was the original artist and often the signature was used to indicate to whom the piece was attributed.

Lucien Veder who signed all of his works with the pseudonym 'Le Garf' to distinguish himself from his teacher and father Eugene Veder. Le Garf was the recipient of the bronze medal in the 1923 and the silver medal in 1925 for etchings of Paris at the Salon des Artistes Français.
