Italian floor lamp signed Barovier & Toso, Murano, original label preserved (Barovier & Toso diamond logo + certification label “Vetri Murano VM 007”, label of the Consorzio Venezia Vetro consortium used between 1981 and the early 2000s).
The conical bowl of blown opaline glass, with the characteristic granite-like texture of Venetian work, is decorated with a frieze of acid-etched waves on its lower third, employing techniques and a decorative vocabulary inherited from the golden age of Venetian glass.
It rests on a colorless Murano glass sphere, blown and cut with twisted ribs, which closes over the brass stem—a torch-style floor lamp, the light being diffused upwards through the glass.
The brass stem extends down to a circular base of white lacquered metal. Original dimmer switch at the foot. Good overall condition.
The lacquered base shows visible signs of wear and micro-scratches (see photos), without affecting the structure or function.
The glass and crystal sphere are intact, without chips or cracks.
The original wiring is functional.
