From the 1870s or 1880s, this set of doorknobs feature the original white porcelain knobs and the cast iron rim lock. This piece has a rare spring-loaded latch bolt instead of a key. The bolt works, but given the rusty nature of the rim lock, it takes a bit of effort to move. The rim lock is decorated in gorgeous scrollwork.
No numbers or marks found. The back of the plate features the original black enameled paint. The plate measures 3.75"T x 3"W. The entire piece from each outer knob measures 6.25". A beautiful piece of salvaged architectural history!
