"Temptation" By Joseph Pollet (American Artist,1897-1979)
Joseph C. Pollet was an American painter renowned for his portraits and realistic rural landscapes. Born in Albbruck, Germany in 1897, he immigrated to New York City in 1911 and studied at the Art Students League under John Sloan. A Guggenheim Fellow and Carnegie International honoree, he exhibited widely, lived in Woodstock, Paris, and Italy, and is represented in major collections including the Whitney, LACMA, and MoMA.
