Description:
This striking antique Chinese porcelain vase has been expertly converted into a tall, elegant table lamp. Dating to the late 19th or early 20th century Qing dynasty export period, the square tapering form features the classic Famille Noire (Famille Noir) black ground glaze with vibrant overglaze enamels.
Hand-painted throughout are delicate white plum (prunus) blossoms on gnarled branches, small birds in flight, and turquoise-green rockwork and foliage at the base — all set against a deep, glossy black background. The bold contrast and chinoiserie motifs make this a standout decorative piece with timeless appeal.
The vase measures approximately 25" tall and 6" wide. Mounted with a brass harp, socket, and finial, the overall lamp stands 36" tall to the top of the finial (without shade). It is fitted with a black cord and inline switch. No lampshade is included.
This lamp is in good condition with wear consistent with age and use. The porcelain remains structurally sound and the wiring is functional. A beautiful example of Qing-era export ware repurposed for Western interiors, perfect for adding height, drama, and Asian-inspired elegance to a living room, bedroom, or entryway console.
