The composition and intricate dot technique are in the style of Australian Aboriginal dot painting, with repeating patterns and richly worked surfaces creating a strong graphic presence.

The gold-toned mat is inscribed “Cameroon II” and “Nelson.” The identity of Nelson and the geographic origin of the work have not been independently verified; accordingly, this piece is offered as Aboriginal-style artwork rather than as an authenticated work by an Indigenous Australian artist.

The artwork was previously custom framed by Strong of Ellsworth, Maine. The original frame had considerable scratching and was removed. The piece is being sold matted and unframed; the original frame is not included.
