Purchased new in 1993, the chair has an especially sculptural silhouette. Sweeping curved wood arms frame a softly rounded black velvet upholstered seat, while the dramatic high back narrows toward the seat before terminating in a substantial central rear support.

The design is attractive from every angle, making the chair particularly well suited for placement where the back remains visible. Its combination of warm natural wood, graphic black detailing, and exaggerated geometry is characteristic of the playful, design-driven furniture of the late 20th century.
