This Scandinavian mirror from the 1960s features a minimalist design, in which the glass profile and the thin wooden frame interact harmoniously, creating a composition of great visual lightness. The glass features an elegantly contoured profile with rounded upper corners and is enclosed by a thin turquoise lacquered wooden frame. The profile wraps around the edge of the mirror, leaving only a small portion visible. The frame is therefore present, but deliberately kept to a minimum, so that the glass appears almost suspended on the wall and the reflective surface remains the true protagonist. The edge of the mirror is finished with a thin bevel, a process achieved by chamfering the perimeter and creating a delicate facet. When light strikes the surface, this finish generates a thin luminous frame that emphasizes the mirror's contoured profile. The thin frame faithfully follows the shape of the glass, perfectly complementing its curves and lending the overall effect a clean and refined look, perfectly representative of the formal research of 1960s Nordic design, which focused on reducing superfluous elements and showcasing the finest materials. The back is finished with a contoured wooden frame and a closing panel, a solution that protects the glass and demonstrates the attention paid to even the invisible elements of the object.
