This rug features a highly unique and beautiful allover ""Gol Farang"" (Foreign Flower) pattern. While often associated with Bidjar, this sophisticated design was also woven in Tabriz, likely as a custom order inspired by a European aesthetic—some believe it is a variation of the French Aubusson carpets admired by the Shah of Persia. The design is set against a field of beautiful abrash navy blue and French blue. The term ""abrash"" refers to the subtle and charming color variations created by the use of organic dyes, giving the rug a sense of ""living color"" and a unique, authentic character. Each intricate flower in the pattern is rendered in a variety of shades, including elegant cream, serene blue, and classic red, showcasing the artisan's masterful use of color. A striking brick red border with a traditional ram's horn design beautifully frames the central field, providing a warm and sophisticated enclosure.
