Presenting a beautiful and sturdy vintage Chinese square stool crafted from solid African rosewood (Hongmu / Padauk). This piece features a classic, elegant Ming Dynasty design characterized by its clean lines, minimal ornamentation, and impeccable joinery.
The stool boasts a stunning top panel with a floating centerpiece set within a mitered frame, showcasing a highly dramatic "Ghost Face" grain and beautiful "Ox-hair" streaks. The four legs are gently splayed, connected by a traditional humpback stretcher and shaped apron with a swallow-tail cutout, highlighting the superb craftsmanship of traditional Chinese mortise-and-tenon joinery.
The stool has a rich, warm reddish-brown patina with a smooth, aged luster, indicating years of careful use and polishing. It is a perfect functional accent piece.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The structure is tight and very sturdy. The wood surface shows a beautiful, natural patina.
