Striking vintage Italian art glass swan with a smoky black controlled-bubble body, dramatic clear raised wings, amber-orange beak and foot, and applied yellow eyes. The underside bears a hand-etched signature under "Murano". ". Glass birds have been attributed to the 1980s, which is consistent with the sculptural form, applied details, and decorative glasswork of this example.

Handmade blown glass construction gives the swan wonderful movement and presence, particularly through the sweeping clear wings and elongated neck. A handsome collectible for Murano and Venetian glass collections, bookshelves, consoles, display cabinets, or layered interiors.
