wolff mirus
painter, draftsman, illustrator, designer.
1949: fled with his mother and older sister susan from east germany to west germany. 1952: moved with his father to darmstadt.
in 1954, he met otto ritschl for the first time in wiesbaden; ritschl was a friend of his mother at the time.
from 1959, he lived in wiesbaden, and in 1960, the family moved into otto ritschl's former apartment.
from 1962, he participated in the musical evenings at the ritschl house.
from 1964, mirus worked for ritschl in his house, garden, and studio.
in 1965, he began an apprenticeship as a typesetter, and under the influence of otto ritschl's art, he created his first still lifes.
from 1966, he attended the wiesbaden school of applied arts.
from 1972, mirus worked on the catalogue raisonné of otto ritschl's work.
in 1976, after otto ritschl's death, mirus lived in the ritschl house for a year.
in 1977, he began a friendship with tom sommerlatte, and mirus curated exhibitions and organized exhibitions of fellow artists in his studio.
from 1984 to 1995, i was responsible for advertising, architecture, and art at aok wiesbaden-rheingau-taunus. From 2015 to 2017, i worked on an expanded catalogue raisonné of otto ritschl's work.
