Gov. Thomas W. Veazey served as the 24th Governor of Maryland from 1836 to 1839. Signed lower right "By ? Jackson" in an ornate and gilded frame. Skillfully composed and recently professionally cleaned and re-backed. Veazey was the last Governor of Mayryland to be elected by the Maryland General Assembly. After 1838 the position of Governor was chosen by the people.
