The design features a classical floral garden motif centered around a soft rust-red medallion set on an ivory field, framed by a deep navy border adorned with finely drawn scrolling vinery and blossoming flowers. The exceptional clarity of the design — every petal, every vine, every detail rendered with jewel-like precision — is made possible only by the extremely fine knot count that is the hallmark of Qum's master silk weavers. The city of Qum, one of the holiest cities in Shia Islam, is celebrated worldwide for producing the finest silk carpets in Persia, and this all-silk example represents that tradition at its most transcendent.
