On the back is hand-signed calligraphy:
Top (Korean Hangul): 부네 (Bune). This is the name of the specific character depicted by the mask, representing a young woman or concubine in traditional dance dramas.
Right Side (Hanja Characters): 河回假面 (Hahoe Gamyeon / Hahoe Mask). This names the historic Hahoe Folk Village in Andong, South Korea, where this mask-making tradition originates.
Bottom Left (Hanja Signature): 秦暻雯 (Jeon Gyeong-mun / Chon Kyong-mun), a master woodcarver based out of the historical Andong Hahoe Folk Village area. See less
