A striking framed bookplate featuring Gustav Klimt’s unfinished portrait Amalie Zuckerkandl, painted in 1917–18. This image was taken from the 1995 Rizzoli edition of Gustav Klimt, Women by Angelica Bäumer and has been professionally presented as decorative wall art.
The portrait is one of Klimt’s fascinating late works and remained unfinished at the time of his death in 1918. The visible areas of loosely sketched canvas surrounding the highly developed face give the composition an especially modern, expressive quality. Soft blue, rose, ochre and charcoal tones stand out beautifully against the warm neutral background.
The bookplate is set within a contemporary white frame with contrasting black inner detailing and a wide light steel blue mat, creating a clean, architectural presentation that works particularly well in modern, eclectic, Art Deco-inspired or collected interiors.
Please note that this is a vintage printed bookplate reproduction of Gustav Klimt’s artwork, not an original painting or original work by Klimt.
