This is a five-drawer highboy/chest on chest dresser featuring burl veneer panels on the top, two small drawers and bottom drawer with matched grain on the middle drawers. It has brass-toned oval ball pulls, carved floral appliques, fluted corner columns, a scalloped apron, and turned legs joined by a spindle stretcher.
Produced by the Berkey and Gay furniture company of Grand Rapids Michigan during the early 20th century, it reflects the revival styles popular in American domestic furniture of the period. Berkey and Gay was renowned for high-quality craftsmanship.
