A monumental bespoke set of twelve tall dining chairs comprised of ten side chairs and two host armchairs designed by Marshall Watson for Edward Ferrell + Louis Mittman in High Point, North Carolina. The amazing chairs are crafted in an Art Deco inspired design and features striking silhouettes with massive high backs measuring almost five feet tall. The side chairs are constructed with skinny and airy profiles, having angled rectangular backs, gracefully curved and tapered front legs, and slender sabered back legs. The chairs are upholstered in a sharp multi-tone striped chenille velvet. The fabric features charcoal, gold, taupe, cream, and brown running in vertical bands, outlined by decorative brass tack nailhead trim along the edges. The set is anchored by a pair of impressive throne-like armchairs upholstered entirely in a soft champagne velour. The armchairs are accented by fully skirted bases pleated and trimmed with a metallic gold scrolling leaf brocade borders. The arms and seat cushions have decorative rope pipping. The chairs are sturdy and strong having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Together, the chairs fit together as a modern Art Deco suite with a unique high-back silhouette, well-suited for a variety of spaces. Measurements listed are for the side chairs.
