A striking original acrylic on canvas painting by James L. Reed, signed and dated ’71. Dating to 1971, this one-of-a-kind vintage work is presented in what appears to be its original solid wood frame with a fabric-covered canvas liner.
The painting is an original work on stretched canvas, not a print or reproduction. The reverse remains exposed, showing the vintage wood stretcher construction, original framing details, and hanging wire.
The substantial wood frame has wonderful vintage character and complements the painting beautifully. The fabric/canvas liner surrounding the artwork appears to have possibly been painted or refreshed at some point in its history. It presents very well and does not detract from the overall appearance.
A handsome piece of 1970s original art with wonderful decorative presence, equally suited to a traditional, transitional, eclectic, or collected interior.
