Decorated in soft … Read more This rare handsome antique porcelain figure depicts a hunting dog, likely an English setter, captured mid hunt. Decorated in soft greys, browns, and black over a high-gloss glaze, the piece shows beautifully modeled fur, an expressive face, and a finely detailed collar. It was made by Ernst Bohne & Söhne of Rudolstadt in the Thuringia region of Germany noted for its porcelain manufacturing. The underside bears the factory's blue underglaze crowned "N" mark, a version documented in use through about 1919, placing this piece in the genuine Ernst Bohne & Söhne period before the firm's 1919 acquisition by Gebrüder Heubach.

The figure measures approximately 10.5” tall x 7” long x 4” wide and is in nearly perfect condition for a piece of its age, with no visible chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration. There is a small area of light tan discoloration the glaze on the dog's chest (shown in photos).
