This impressive, heavy cast metal statue features Shakyamuni Buddha in the traditional "Earth-touching" mudra (Bhumisparsha), with his right hand reaching down toward the earth and his left hand holding a small alms bowl in his lap. He is seated in meditation upon a beautifully detailed double lotus pedestal.
The piece features an antique-style patina with dark bronze, cinnabar red, and heavily applied gold gilt (gold leaf) accents that highlight the folds of his robe and the base.
