The casting retains crisp … Read more Antique circa 1890 silver-plated figural cigar cutter featuring a beautifully detailed Borzoi / Russian Wolfhound head.

The casting retains crisp detail throughout, including defined eyes and eyelids, nose and nostrils, mouth and jowls, correctly shaped ears, and deeply modeled curls of fur. The elongated body features textured bark-like and floral decoration characteristic of the Art Nouveau period.

Measures approximately 5 5/8" long × 7/8" wide × 1 1/4" tall.

The lever-action cutter is complete and operates smoothly with no binding or hesitation. The cutter assembly remains firmly seated with no looseness.

Condition: Antique condition with expected age-related surface wear, patina, and wear/loss to the original silver-plated finish. There is a small hairline split in the body near the cutter assembly, clearly shown in the close-up photo. The split does not appear to affect the seating or operation of the cutter.
