Handcrafted by the Mbunda and Lozi people of Zambia's Western Province, these wide, shallow winnowing trays represent a masterclass in traditional African functional art.
These pieces feature a stunning, organic gradient of deep, oxidized earth tones, warm charcoals, and lighter sun-bleached rims.
A defining feature of this set is the highly expressive narrative told through their historic condition. Two of the baskets feature bold, continuous concentric ring repairs, while the other two display dramatic crescent arcs and edge reinforcements. Intricately stitched using natural maize husks.
