Charming set of six vintage handmade terracotta bowls, believed to be Mexican and dating to the late 20th century.
Each bowl is formed from reddish earthenware clay and finished with a warm orange-red glaze, accented by a simple blue and cream painted band around the rim. Slight variations in shape, glaze, and decoration give the set the individual character expected from handmade pottery.
Their rich earthy colors and rustic finish make them a wonderful decorative accent for a Southwestern, Mexican, rustic, or eclectic interior. They would display beautifully grouped together on open shelving, a dining table, or kitchen counter, and are also well suited in form for condiments, dips, spices, nuts, olives, and other small accompaniments.
The set includes six bowls.
Each bowl measures approximately 3.75" in diameter at the rim, 1.25" high, and 1.5" in diameter at the base.
The bowls are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. There is some age-related surface wear, glaze variation, fading, and minor imperfections consistent with handmade vintage pottery.
The clay is somewhat porous and has a noticeable earthy aroma when damp, consistent with traditional low-fired earthenware.
