Stunning and delicate set of Japanese porcelain teacups. The cups and saucers have a raised dragon design using the moriage technique of decorating. The set includes 6 cups and 6 saucers.
The dragon stands out in a raised white and pastel colored clay relief, swirling around a gray/black cup. Each design if slightly different because the are decorated by hand.
The teacups feature a "lithophane" portrait of a Geisha at the bottom, which is visible only when held up to the light.
Guessing the cups are 2" high, the saucers 4½" diameter. (Forgot to measure before packing.) Good condition, no chips or cracks.
