This is a striking, handmade copper pitcher with an intricate crocodile or sometimes referred to as lizard, style. It shows the beautiful craftsmanship of this English company, active from around 1890-1932. It is stamped with a Neptune mark of a man with a pitchfork. This same company also used the J.S&S mark.
Interestingly, my research shows that this pitcher was handmade in three different finishes – hammered, art nouveau, and lizard skin.
This pitcher measures 11½ inches tall, with a base diameter of 6 inches.
The condition is excellent with only the slightest of wear and slight tarnish or patina on the bottom as shown in photo. I have not tried to polish it.
