Exquisite antique framed print depicting a young girl standing on a small wooden stool while tending to a rabbit on the floor. The image is titled “Ein Störenfried”, meaning “The Troublemaker” or “The Intruder,” and is after the work of the German genre painter Hermann Kaulbach (1846–1909).
Kaulbach was known particularly for intimate genre scenes depicting children and everyday domestic life. This charming composition captures a humorous domestic moment, with the rabbit becoming the unexpected “troublemaker” of the scene.
The print is presented in a substantial antique wooden frame with a warm natural brown finish. The frame has a layered construction with a lighter, aged wood inner section and a darker polished outer moulding, giving the piece a particularly attractive period appearance.
The combination of the sentimental genre image and original-looking period frame makes this an appealing decorative piece for collectors of German art, antique prints, vintage children's imagery, and traditional European interiors.
The work is offered as a framed print after Hermann Kaulbach, rather than as an original painting by the artist.
