A large, striking beveled mirror with the character of a vintage Parisian café or European apartment. Purchased from Random Harvest, the longtime Washington, DC design destination, this piece has an elegant, slightly retro quality that works beautifully over a dining-room console, sideboard, or mantel.
The generous central mirror is surrounded by individually beveled mirrored panels, framed in an antiqued silver-gold finish. Sculptural gilt acanthus-leaf details accent the corners and intersections, with delicate leaf-pattern molding around the perimeter.
At 50” wide by 38” high, it has substantial presence without feeling overly formal. The combination of aged gilt, beveled glass and architectural detailing gives it a collected European feel rather than the look of a new decorative mirror.
