A beautifully presented limited-edition fine art photograph by American photographer David Brookover, titled Steps to Still Water, Japan. This atmospheric composition comes from Brookover’s earlier color film work and reflects the strong influence of Japanese aesthetics developed during his years living and working in Japan.
Signed by the artist and numbered 21/400, the photograph captures a tranquil Japanese garden scene with stone steps descending toward still water, surrounded by richly colored autumn foliage and reflections.
The work is exceptionally presented in a substantial bamboo-style custom wood frame by Fremont Frameworks of Lander, Wyoming. Wide linen-textured fabric matting and a coordinating wood fillet surround the photograph, with premium low-reflection glazing completing the presentation. The custom framing is an important part of the piece and would represent a significant expense to reproduce at this scale and quality today.
