Armin Sandig
Painter, graphic artist, draftsman.
As an artist, Sandig was self-taught.
During his youth, he came into formative contact with Werner Gilles and Gottfried Brockmann, who introduced him to painting.
He lived in Hamburg from 1951.
from 1958, he created numerous prints for the "Griffelkunst-Vereinigung" (Griffel Art Association).
In 1960, he received his first major commission for the ceramic wall design of a daycare center in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. He also traveled to Paris.
Until around 1970, Sandig primarily created Tachist, informal works, before turning to figurative representational art.
Exhibitions:
1949 First solo exhibition at the Deutsches Theater in Konstanz.
Subsequently, numerous solo and group exhibitions.
