An authentic vintage hand-painted Mexican folk art terracotta turtle tureen / covered dish, originating from the renowned pottery center of Tlaquepaque, Jalisco, Mexico.
Crafted with an organic matte earthenware body, the turtle features an expressive sculpted face, painted facial details, and sturdy claw feet. Its domed carapace is adorned with raised, scallop-molded shell scales hand-painted with traditional concentric rings of cobalt blue, earthy olive green, and warm terracotta rust. The top half lifts off as a fitted lidded cover, revealing a spacious terracotta interior.
