Add a touch of whimsical Italian mid-century charm to your tablescape or china cabinet with this exceptionally rare ceramic teapot. Produced in Italy by the historic Societa Ceramica Italiana (S.C.I.) Laveno under their premium "Diamondstone" line, this piece features the highly collectible, vibrantly colorful "Baronessa" pattern.
Design & Details:
This hollowware piece features a sculptural, low-slung "melon-ribbed" body that mimics the elegant lobes of a pumpkin. The creamy ivory glaze is beautifully contrasted by a hand-applied horizontal ribbon of black-outlined, mid-century stylized flowers in striking turquoise, cobalt blue, marigold orange, and deep green. The matching ribbed lid tapers perfectly to a delicate leaf-form finial. Highly elusive on the secondary market, this sculptural teapot is a true collector's find and the perfect addition to a Grandmillennial, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic European-inspired interior.
