Vintage Rattan Petal Fan-Back Armchairs with Coral Pink Cushions — Pair
Description:
A striking pair of vintage rattan armchairs featuring an unusual sculptural petal or flower-inspired fan-back design. The dramatic looping rattan backs, curved arms and warm natural finish give these chairs a wonderful mix of Coastal Regency, Hollywood Regency and vintage bohemian style.
Each chair features a coral-pink upholstered seat cushion that beautifully complements the warm honey tones of the rattan. Their sculptural silhouettes make them especially appealing as statement chairs in a coastal home, sunroom, bedroom, sitting room or collected eclectic interior.
The distinctive petal fan-back design is reminiscent of mid-century tropical rattan designs associated with the Paul Frankl era. No maker’s mark has been confirmed, so these chairs are being offered without a specific designer attribution.
Condition:
Vintage condition with visible age and wear. Most notably, portions of the original wrapping/lashing around the rattan joints are missing or deteriorated. There are also areas of finish wear, scuffs, scratches and other imperfections consistent with age and use. Please review all photographs carefully, particularly the close-up condition photographs. The chairs are being offered in their current vintage condition and have not been restored.
Despite their imperfections, this is an exceptionally decorative and increasingly difficult-to-find rattan design with wonderful character.
