A charming mid century Florentine tabletop chest crafted in Italy and finished in muted olive green with hand-painted gilt and red decorative details. Designed in the form of a miniature serpentine-front commode, the chest features two green velvet-lined drawers fitted with round metal pulls.
The shaped top, scalloped apron, curved drawer fronts and small cabriole-style feet give the piece the character of a full-scale Italian chest in miniature. Its aged painted surface and timeworn gilding contribute to its distinctive decorative appeal.
