Art nouveau style five-light bronze chandelier / nancy school style / 1900
the gilt bronze frame features a remarkable vegetal composition: five long, supple, and sinuous stems rise from a lower body sculpted with broad scrolls to form the various light arms.
these organic and flowing lines are particularly characteristic of the art nouveau aesthetic.
the chandelier is topped with five molded glass tulip shades, decorated with a raised, frosted pattern, transitioning from opalescent white to a delicate pink hue on their gently undulating edges.
their shape, reminiscent of blooming flowers, perfectly complements the naturalistic design of the frame.
the upper section is also adorned with a foliate motif and retains its suspension ring.
a very beautiful period light fixture, spectacular in its design and particularly elegant in its combination of gilt bronze and opalescent pink glass.
