The composition opens onto a snow-covered path bordered by walls and trees with snow-laden branches, in the center of which a child, wrapped in a coat, walks.

It embodies all the modernity of the Post-Impressionist movement: tight framing, stylized forms, outlined brushstrokes, and a muted palette enlivened by the vibrant touch of a chimney in the background and the child's legs. This composition is characteristic of Bonnard's vision of Parisian winter street scenes.
