This beautifully proportioned, multi-functional chest is crafted with highly figured Keyaki (Japanese Zelkova) wood veneer on the front panels, showcasing a striking, fiery burl wood grain with a rich amber-brown patina.

Designed historically to store loose teas and fine tea service utensils, the cabinet features an elegant variety of asymmetrical storage compartments. The upper section includes two sets of smooth-sliding bypass doors, with the middle row featuring a decorative, open-work lattice mesh screen that provides ventilation and a beautiful visual texture. The lower section includes a drop-pull single cabinet door alongside an arrangement of five drawers of varying sizes, all fitted with authentic, dark-patinated iron drop-pull hardware (mokko style).

The interior linings and secondary structures are traditionally built from lightweight Kiri (Paulownia) wood, known for its moisture-resistant and climate-stable properties.
