This chest of drawers has pin and cove joints, also called Knapp joints, which were only manufactured from 1869-1900 giving this beautiful dresser a specific date. It was one of a limited number of the first factory made dressers in the United States post-Civil War era during the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. It features craftsman details and retains its original brass plated Victorian hardware with detailed iron pulls. A Victorian skeleton key is included to lock and unlock all four drawers. Although this dresser came to us in poor condition, we wanted to keep as much of its warm patina and aging charm as we could while still strengthening it and giving it a refreshed finish along with beautiful vintage drawer liners to help it last for years to come!
This dresser is made of solid oak. The oak is quarter sawn giving it that beautiful grain pattern commonly referred to as tiger oak.
