Stately William and Mary Revival … Read more Large antique pair hand crafted barley-twist floor lamps or torchiere lamps. Absolute breathtaking statement pieces! Stately William and Mary Revival or Jacobean style recognizable by the dramatic, spiraling "barley-twist" carved central column. Traditionally these stately lamps were turned and hand-carved from dense hardwoods like dark oak or rich walnut to survive the intricate spiral carving process without splitting. These pieces date back to the 1600's but were also popular in the Victorian Era. Large vintage candlestick-style socket covers featuring faux wax drips to mimic tallow candles. The spirals head down to a heavy tiered pedestal base. Electrical wiring had once been added but had since been removed, easily added with your desire. See less
