An iconic office chair designed by Arne Jacobsen, combining a refined sculptural form with excellent functionality. The chairs feature elegantly shaped backs upholstered in their original cognac leather, with matching leather pads on the armrests. The warm tone and natural patina of the leather contrast beautifully with the brushed aluminium armrests and five-star bases, giving the chairs their characteristic sophisticated and architectural appearance. Both chairs are fitted with a swivel function and are adjustable in height, with a seat height ranging from approximately 45 to 58 cm. The five-star aluminium bases are equipped with original-style castors, making them practical as executive desk or office chairs while retaining the clean aesthetic for which Jacobsen’s designs are renowned. Presented in very good original condition, with signs of age and use consistent with their vintage character. The original leather shows an attractive natural patina and some wear, adding to the authentic appearance of these early examples. A highly desirable pair of original Arne Jacobsen Oxford chairs, combining Danish modernist design, functionality and beautifully aged materials.
