It belonged to a private collector … Read more A rare limited edition sculpture signed and numbered 15 from an edition of 25. It belonged to a private collector in Brazil until 2023 when he passed. The piece is now in Miami, Florida with one of his family members.

The sculpture is an homage to Frida and depicts a seated figure of Frida Kahlo holding a mask of herself in front of an image of Diego Rivera. In her other hand, she is holding an archaic and stylized Spanish poem with excerpts translated below. The sculpture will be accompanied by the original bill of sale and a later appraisal of the piece's value provided by the Bustamante Gallery in 2023, as well as the certificate of authenticity (COA).

She is holding on her lap an excerpt from her diary which is a letter to her lover Diego Rivera, and starts our with: "Era sed de muchos años retenida en nuestro cuerpo..." See less
