Large Louis XVI style mirror in lacquered and gilt wood, circa 1900
This important Louis XVI style mantel mirror features an elegant carved and lacquered ivory wood frame, highlighted by a beaded frieze. The pediment is adorned with a rich, finely crafted giltwood garland, held by an imposing central knot—an emblematic composition of late 18th-century decorative repertoire.
The mirror is composed of original mercury glass, assembled in several panels, punctuated with gilt bronze rosettes, lending the whole piece all the charm and authenticity of antique mirrors.
with its harmonious proportions and the quality of its decoration, this mirror will bring considerable elegance above a fireplace, in an entryway, or in a classic or contemporary living room.
In very good condition, with an antique patina and some slight signs of age consistent with its period.
