his is a contemporary, one-of-a-kind table lamp base, a studio original made in the United States. It is finished with William Morris's Acanthus pattern, a botanical design from 1875 for Morris & Co. William Morris (1834 to 1896) was an English textile and wallpaper designer and the founder of Morris & Co. The pattern covers a baluster-form body, and the base, neck, and cap have a metallic paint finish. The style is Art Nouveau and Victorian, and this statement piece suits English traditional and traditional interiors.
The lamp measures 22 inches high by 7 inches wide, socket to base. It is in fully working condition and has a new switch knob. It is sold as a lamp base only, with the harp fitting, and no shade is included. Use it on a living room console or sofa table, a bedroom nightstand or dresser, a home office desk, a library, an entry table, or in a sunroom.
