The piece stands out for its elegant, organic, asymmetrical kidney-shaped line, a sinuous profile strongly inspired by the taste and contemporary creations of great masters of Italian interior design such as Gio Ponti, Federico Munari, and Ico Parisi.

The structure is supported by four splendid, slightly flared, solid wood tapered legs with a light, natural finish, which give the piece the typical visual lightness and floating geometric momentum of haute-couture 1950s design.

The upholstery was likely replaced in the 1990s; it is in good condition but clearly not new.
