This is a striking original vintage oil painting, featuring a minimalist sailboat with a distant city skyline, rendered almost entirely and rich shades of blue. The elongated composition and atmospheric style, make it an excellent example of mid century, modern decorative artwork.
The frame measures approximately 22.25 inches wide by 13 inches high and the painting itself measures approximately 20.5 inches wide by 11.5 inches high. The painting is signed in the lower left, appearing to read “Tros” parentheses (artist unidentified). The back retains its original label from Mexico City, providing a retail period provenance. The label is from Moret Galerias y Decoracion, S. A.
The painting appears to date to approximately the 1960s or 1970s based on the label.
Shows some minor wear, but overall good condition and really nice painting. Age related craquelure throughout consistent with age with some small specs of missing paint. Please review all photos carefully as they are part of the description.
