Fine Pair of Antique Meissen First-Quality Porcelain Rococo Figurines c. 1860-1890
Made in Germany.
Exceptional and beautifully detailed Meissen hard-paste porcelain figurines depicting a Rococo Lady and Gentleman. Originally conceived by Meissen's Master Modelers Kandler/Reinicke Design Lineage.
Each Approx. 10 7/8" Tall.
The Gentleman is Dressed in an Elaborately Patterned Waistcoat with Striped Skirt.
The Lady Holds a Small Basket/Casket and Wears a Beautifully Detailed Floral Apron over a Striped Skirt.
Both Feature Hand-painted Enamels, fine Facial Details, and Rich Fired-gilt Accents Along the Ornate Scroll Base.
Both Figurines Bear the Genuine Hand-painted Underglaze Cobalt Blue Meissen Crossed Swords Mark to the Base. First-Quality.
Production Marks Incised Model Number 63 and 64 Alongside Crisp Circular Factory Former's Stamp Impressed into the Paste.
Overall in very good antique condition with vibrant colors and excellent preservation of the gold gilt. Gentleman's right hand is missing the tip of the index finger. Lady one small section of dress ruffle center chest area minor chip. No other structural cracks, hairline fractures or signs of amateur restoration. Normal wear from age.
