A stunning and sculptural California buckeye burlwood cocktail table by Mountain Craft, circa 1970s. This handcrafted table showcases the natural artistry of buckeye burl, with its striking interplay of golden blond and deep charcoal grain patterns across a dramatically contoured live-edge slab top. The highly polished surface enhances the swirling figure and voids inherent to this rare species, making each angle uniquely captivating.
Resting on a solid, organic burlwood base, the table exudes a bold yet grounded presence—blending rustic naturalism with modern California craft sensibility. A signature example of the artistry and woodworking excellence Mountain Craft became known for in the 1970s West Coast artisan movement.
Ideal for collectors of Studio Craft furniture, nature-inspired design, and American mid-century artistry. Tagged and numbered.
Photographed with Eames DCW for scale.
