A captivating piece of late 19th-century French decorative art.This exquisite table lamp features a vibrant ceramic body crafted by the legendary Faïenceries et Émaux de Longwy. The cylindrical body is adorned with their signature overglaze cloisonné enameling (émaux). It showcases a brilliant turquoise blue ground covered in tightly wound, multi-colored (polychrome) floral scrolls, stylized blossoms, and delicate leaf work.
The ceramic core is encased in heavy, ornate ormolu (gilt bronze) mounts. The casting features two split-scroll classical handles at the neck and a heavily detailed, tiered geometric base that grounds the piece beautifully.Originally produced as a luxury kerosene or gas light during the Aesthetic Movement, this piece makes a stunning decorative statement.
