A rare and spectacular ceremonial mirror in Capodimonte porcelain, of remarkable modeling quality, dating from the late 18th or early 19th century. This exceptional piece illustrates all the refinement of the great Neapolitan productions, with its rich relief decoration combining putti, female allegory, garlands, and naturalistic flowers, executed with a virtuosity worthy of the most prestigious royal manufactories.
The frame, entirely fashioned in glazed porcelain, is enlivened by an elegant polychromy dominated by a delicate sky blue, contrasting with the luminous white of the figures. Each element is individually modeled, creating a composition of great lightness where the figures seem to move freely around the mirror.
The quality of the sculpture, the delicacy of the expressions, the richness of the floral details, and the balance of the composition testify to a work intended for an aristocratic clientele, characteristic of the most prestigious Capodimonte productions. The piece retains its original mercury mirror, displaying the patina and natural alterations sought after by collectors, enhancing its authentic charm.
The work features some old restorations, primarily located on certain petals, flowers, and raised elements, perfectly consistent with this type of monumental porcelain. These restorations do not detract from the overall aesthetic appeal or its remarkable decorative presence.
Due to its rarity, size, and quality of execution, this mirror is a first-rate collector's item, emblematic of Neapolitan decorative splendor.
