Elevate your home with this beautiful and functional vintage Chinese low cabinet. Crafted from solid wood with a rich, warm-toned lacquer finish, this piece is perfect for a living room as a media console, a low buffet, or a unique storage solution in an entryway.
The most distinctive feature of this cabinet is the five cabinet doors, each featuring a hand-carved 'Double Happiness' (囍) symbol in a circular fretwork pattern. 'Double Happiness', or Shuangxi (pronounced shwong-she), is a traditional Chinese character representing joy and good fortune, often used in weddings and celebrations.
The cabinet also features four upper drawers for smaller items. It is adorned with ornate, engraved brass hardware, including corner mounts, hinges, and pulls. One central door has a charming, fish-shaped brass pull that serves as a latch. The interior of the cabinets is lined with traditional paper featuring Chinese characters.
All drawers and doors are fully functional, offering ample storage despite the compact, low profile.
